Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

BrainiacVillage is an educational platform designed for children ages 5–14. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and expectations for all users to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. This policy applies to all users, including parents, children, educators, organization administrators, and staff.

By using BrainiacVillage, you agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited on BrainiacVillage:

2.1 Harassment and Harmful Behavior

  • Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or threatening behavior directed at any user.
  • Sharing, posting, or transmitting content that is inappropriate, violent, sexual, hateful, discriminatory, or harmful in any way.
  • Using language or imagery that is offensive, abusive, or not suitable for children.
  • Targeting, grooming, or engaging in any predatory behavior toward minors.

2.2 Account and Security Violations

  • Impersonating another user, educator, parent, or any person or entity.
  • Attempting to access another user's account, data, or private information without authorization.
  • Sharing, selling, or distributing login credentials to any third party.
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, bans, or subscription limitations.

2.3 Technical Violations

  • Exploiting bugs, vulnerabilities, or security flaws in the platform for any purpose.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of the Service or its components.
  • Using automated tools, bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated means to access, collect data from, or interact with the Service.
  • Uploading, transmitting, or distributing malware, viruses, worms, trojans, or any other harmful or malicious code.
  • Interfering with the proper functioning of the platform, including denial-of-service attacks or load testing without written permission.

2.4 Misuse of the Platform

  • Using the platform for any commercial purpose not expressly authorized by BrainiacVillage.
  • Circumventing subscription limitations, free trial restrictions, or promo code policies.
  • Redistributing, reselling, or sublicensing access to the Service or its content.
  • Using the Service to collect, harvest, or store personal data about other users without their consent.

3. Educator-Specific Rules

Educators using BrainiacVillage are held to additional standards to protect students and maintain the integrity of the educational environment:

  • Educational Purpose Only — Student data and learning progress must be used solely for educational purposes, including instruction, progress monitoring, and curriculum planning.
  • No Unauthorized Contact — Educators must not contact students outside the BrainiacVillage platform without explicit, documented parent or guardian consent.
  • Confidentiality — Educators must not share, export, or disclose student information (including names, progress data, or any PII) with unauthorized third parties, including other students' parents.
  • FERPA Compliance — Educators affiliated with schools or educational institutions must comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and any other applicable education privacy laws.
  • Professional Conduct — Educators must maintain professional conduct at all times and model appropriate behavior for students.

4. Chat & Community Guidelines

BrainiacVillage may offer community features, including chat, messaging, and discussion areas. All users participating in these features must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • No Hate Speech or Discrimination — Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or prejudice based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.
  • No Profanity or Vulgar Language — All communications must be appropriate for children. Profanity, crude language, and suggestive content are not permitted.
  • AI Content Moderation — BrainiacVillage employs AI-powered content filtering that actively monitors community communications. Messages containing prohibited content may be automatically blocked or flagged.
  • Human Moderation — Flagged messages and reported content may be reviewed by human moderators to ensure accuracy and fairness.
  • Parent Notifications — Parents are notified of moderation events involving their child's account, including blocked messages and content warnings.
  • No Personal Information Sharing — Users, especially children, must not share personal contact information (phone numbers, addresses, social media accounts) through community features.

5. Content Standards

All content shared, uploaded, or created on BrainiacVillage must meet the following standards:

  • Educational Focus — Content should be relevant to education, learning, and personal development.
  • Age-Appropriate — All content must be suitable for children ages 5–14. Content that is violent, sexual, frightening, or otherwise inappropriate for children is prohibited.
  • Original or Licensed — Users must only share content they own or have the right to share. Copyright infringement is prohibited.
  • Accurate — Educational content shared by educators should be accurate and not intentionally misleading.

6. Enforcement

BrainiacVillage reserves the right to enforce this Acceptable Use Policy at its sole discretion. Enforcement actions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Warning — A written warning notifying the user of the violation and the expected corrective behavior.
  • Content Removal — Immediate removal of content that violates this policy.
  • Temporary Suspension — Temporary suspension of account access for a specified period.
  • Permanent Termination — Permanent termination of the user's account for severe or repeated violations.
  • Legal Action — In cases involving illegal activity, BrainiacVillage may report the matter to law enforcement authorities and pursue legal remedies.

The severity of the enforcement action will be determined based on the nature and severity of the violation, the user's history, and the impact on other users, particularly children.

7. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience a violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, we encourage you to report it immediately. You can report violations through:
